Product

I captured an image of my new stylus. I used my tablet to show a blue screen and set the stylus on it using some blu tack to keep it invisibly in position.

I arranged the tablet to avoid unwanted reflections and ensured the stylus was lit without obvious highlights.

I shot at 45ish degrees with my elbows on the workbench. The image works as a product shot as it is clear what the product is. To make the shot better, I would need to use dedicated lighting rather than ceiling light and window light.
Food

I captured some home-grown beans in a glass bowl.

I set the bowl again onto my tablet, showing a contrasting colour. I shot on the floor near a window and used a hand-held torch to add the last little bit of light needed. My camera was set up on my tripod above the bowl.

I cropped in square as this worked best with the circular bowl.

I think the image is successful as it shows the food item clearly. The patterns on the beans make them an attractive subject. I think they look appealing.
Architecture

I placed my camera on the floor to take this shot of my plant shelf with the "broken record" ceiling design as the background. It needed several seconds' exposure as the window is a long way away, but that isn't a problem as the camera was stable. I triggered the shutter remotely to avoid camera shake.

I like the different viewpoint, which shows the shapes of the leaves and the light hitting the various green colours. I also like how the depth is condensed as you can't see how far the ivies are trailling. The natural wood complements the green plants.

I think the shot is successful because it shows a different perspective and asks the viewer to think about what they're seeing, while showcasing the different shapes and colours of the plants against the white ceiling.
